Kamel Hothi

Kamel Hothi came to the UK as an Indian immigrant and went from cashier to Director, and has had a fair share of experience of smashing glass ceilings. She is now a ferocious advocate for change, in an attempt to create a world free of the struggles and adversities she herself had to face.

From cashier to Director: Kamel Hothi experienced first hand what it is like to smash glass ceilings. Kamel arrived in Britain in the ’60s in search of a better life but encountered racism and hardship along the way.

Her resilience and entrepreneurial skills took her through four decades of a prolific award-winning career as a banker and financial adviser, including leadership roles in major change programmes, community initiatives and major charity projects.

Kamel is currently serving as a non-executive director for a number of companies including TLC Lions, an Inclusion and Diversity company awakening emotional engagement.

She also acts as advisor and Trustee to several boards, including the Queens Commonwealth Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust, Alzheimer’s Soc, Memsui Foundation and Mental Health UK. She firmly beliefs that if you stay true to yourself, you add the most value to the bottom line - and this also increases your confidence.

Knowing yourself
is the beginning of all wisdom.
