Amandine Roche is a Human Right expert and the founder of the Inner Peace Corps. Her experience of almost 20 years of in conflict contexts across Asia, Africa, Europe and South America has lead her to pursuing the path of peace building and conflict resolution.
Her life changed after she met with the Dalai Lama at the age of 18. Following this meeting, Amandine studied human rights and wrote her political science thesis about the Panchen Lama, the youngest prisoner in the world kidnapped by the Chinese. The second life-changing event took place in September 2001 when Amandine was invited by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Afterwards, she decided to come back and commit herself to the country.
For the past 10 years, she has worked and lived on and off in Kabul. Amandine’s current peace building efforts focus on democracy, election, human rights, freedom of expression, education, media awareness, gender equality, and youth empowerment as means for attaining non-violence.
In 2018 Amandine founded The Inner Peace Corps; an inner peace keeping program that directly addresses the well-being of the refugees and aid workers and helps them to combat the physical and psychological effects of the chronic stress (PTSD, depression, anxiety) they experience in conflict and post conflict zones.
